Munich, 19th November 2007 – With the new design-orientated PlasmaSync® XC model range, NEC Display Solutions is simultaneously presenting three new plasma displays. The PlasmaSync® 42XC10, the PlasmaSync® 50XC10 and the PlasmaSync® 60XC10 are stylish and elegant with their 42, 50 and 60-inch format. The new PlasmaSync® XC series provides the customary NEC quality both for professional home cinema fans and for use in the design-orientated digital signage field. The contrast ratio of the displays has been considerably improved and they impress overall with excellent picture quality while at the same time providing an attractive price/performance ratio. All three plasma displays are HD-ready and support the reproduction of 1080p signals for vivid video images.
For the ambitious home cinema user, viewing with a display from the PlasmaSync® XC range means film enjoyment at the highest level. And for company presentations, it means the perfect and professional display of moving pictures on visually attractive flat screens.
The new models of the NEC PlasmaSync® XC range are available in 42 inches with XGA resolution, and with a 50 and 60-inch screen diagonal in WXGA resolution. The displays are equipped with 1080p-compatible inputs, which also support 24-Hertz signals. To make moving images and videos even more vivid, NEC Display Solutions has further improved the contrast ratio and is setting new standards in this regard. The PlasmaSync® 42XC10 and PlasmaSync® 50XC10 impress with an excellent contrast ratio of 15,000:1, while the PlasmaSync® 60XC10 has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. In addition, the dynamic contrast adjustment automatically provides a particularly high contrast for very dark or very bright parts of the picture.
Numerous other features guarantee optimum picture quality. 3D-Scan technology ensures that moving screen content is processed differently from static images, thus presenting sport and action scenes in the best possible light. Dark areas are graded even more finely thanks to the gamma correction of 2.1 - 2.4. Another feature for optimising the picture is Colour Tune. This enables every base colour to be adjusted individually, and the colour to be optimally matched to the individual's colour perception. Home cinema users in particular benefit from all these professional image optimisation features, which have been developed for use in the business sector.
The plasma monitors of the NEC Display Solutions PlasmaSync® XC range have six different memories. Image parameters can be saved individually for signal sources such as DVD player, HD player, SAT receiver or video camera. Thanks to this Picture Memory Function, different settings can also be programmed for daytime and night-time use. The new displays have seven different display modes: 14:9 mode, 4:3 mode, 2.35:1 mode, Zoom, Full, Dynamic mode and Underscan. In addition, the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode enables two different signal sources to be displayed simultaneously. The Side-by-Side mode has 14 different variants.
The new displays have two digital inputs, which are of course HDCP-compatible. The units can be controlled centrally using an RS232 connector.

The PlasmaSync® 50XC10 and PlasmaSync® 60XC10 will be available in the shops from the beginning of January 2008, and the PlasmaSync® 42XC10 from the end of November 2007.
