Munich, 24th January 2008 - NEC Display Solutions Europe GmbH returned excellent results for sales of LCD and plasma public displays in the third quarter of 2007 and thereby confirmed its claim to be a competent solution provider and technology leader. According to the market research institution, Meko Ltd., the display manufacturer increased its share of sales in the European monitor market (EMEA) for 32- to 65-inch large-format LCD and plasma displays to 23 percent. NEC Display Solutions therefore spearheads the market segment for this period and occupies first place in the manufacturer rankings.
The outstanding sales achieved by NEC Display Solutions with large-format LCD displays have made a major contribution to the good results in the public display sector. The manufacturer of display solutions with its European head office in Munich has a market share of 23.6 percent in this product segment in terms of numbers sold, and therefore leads the field by a clear margin in the third quarter of 2007. The sales volumes of the 32- and 40-inch format models are particularly outstanding. Here, NEC Display Solutions is in first place (32") and second place (40") in the manufacturer rankings with 23.9 and 17 percent market share respectively.
In the plasma segment, the monitor manufacturer has 11.5 percent of the market in terms of numbers sold. In this product category, successful sales of 50-inch plasma monitors in particular have led to second place in the manufacturer rankings, which represents a 21.9 percent market share. The total sales volume of large-format plasma displays on the market increased by 15.7 percent compared with the previous quarter.
Thanks to a vertical product alignment with special solutions for digital signage, the public sector, point-of-sale or for use in the retail trade, the company has established itself at an early stage as a competent provider of highly versatile display solutions for all requirements. Here, the monitor manufacturer provides display sizes from 30- to 65-inch in the LCD sector, and from 42- to 60-inch in the plasma technology sector.
