Munich, 08. May 2008 - NEC Display Solutions proudly presents the new NEC VT800 LCD projector in its VT series which, apart from demonstrating outstanding picture quality, is equipped with a range of user-friendly features. The projector is Windows Vista compatible, enabling it to be quickly and simply connected to any local network - additional software or administrator rights are not required to achieve connectivity. Its Ethernet compatibility and Windows remote desktop control functionality allow data streaming from remote content sources. The NEC VT800 achieves the highest possible video quality using the strong noise suppression of HQVTM (Hollywood Quality Video) technology. With a brightness of 2,700 ANSI lumens, the NEC VT800 grabs the attention of any viewer. It is particularly suitable for deployment in the public sector, in companies and in education, for example for conferences, meetings, presentations or lectures.
Convenient and flexible access to data via a local network can save both time and resources. With its Windows Vista compatibility, the NEC VT800 offers this flexibility as well as simple and user-friendly network connectivity. Using the Windows Vista function “Connection to a network projector” also means users don’t need additional software or administrator rights.
The Windows Vista remote desktop control function allows you to call up files from a remote data source. The Ethernet connectivity of the NEC VT800 then makes it possible to quickly transfer data to the projector, so providing simple access to presentation material. Last minute adjustments or selecting particular files in a directory can also be easily performed using a mouse and keyboard which can be connected to the projector via USB ports.
Whether used for video files or static images, the NEC VT800 offers excellent picture quality due to its range of high-end features. It has a silicon Optix chip integrated with HQVTM (Hollywood quality video) technology, offering a multiplicity of features such as improved de-interlacing, excellent noise suppression, high-quality reproduction of detail, or automatic film-mode recognition. With its PIP (picture-in-picture) mode, a second video picture can also be imaged within the full picture – particularly useful for video-conferencing.
A range of technical functionalities ensure that the NEC VT800 offers the best image reproduction and flexibility for installations. Due to the variety of its ports and connectors, the projector can be used for numerous applications. The digital HDMI-port with HDCP support enables the presentation of coded HD video and HDTV content. In addition, it offers two VGA ports, S-video, video and audio ports, as well as a 3.5mm stereo audio output port. An external monitor can also be connected via the analogue PC output port. Maintenance and control of the projector is possible using the RJ45 or RS-232 ports. Maximum mobility is achieved by the VT800’s integrated USB viewer. It permits the convenient connection of external data storage devices directly to the projector (such as a USB stick) and allows the straightforward playing of image files stored on them. The 1.2-times optical zoom, and automatic vertical (up to 30°) and horizontal (up to 40°) keystone correction allow users flexible operation of the projector in any location. The innovative 3D ReformTM function also allows compensation of trapazoidal distortions which can arise due to the projector not placed in line with the screen.
